Gave it a shot Sun/Mon with some decent results. Only had 5 Sun, lost 2-3 good ones at boat then went back Mon and started crankin early, as this was best bait on Sun. I quickly got into them and lost a real nice one on a real long cast so I gave that island point a break and caught a few more, then went back to original spot and got 7th fish which was just under 7lbs, maxed out the golden rule!! Ended with 14 total yesterday, all on crankbait. And on the theft note that we often see with Sheldon, I had a guy park my truck yesterday as my daughter borrowed my launch rope and he left passenger window all the way down and it was second truck only in lot, nothing gone thank god. Water not over spillway, clarity about 2.5 to 3ft, get out there before the grass fills up the void space. Best fish of the year yesterday. Sent it to Brockstarama, he can post I think.

man after all of the hydrilla and pads I saw, i cant imagine where you would throw a crank bait....good for you. I managed three in an hour and a half or so throwing a senko.....no size, but nice to get a bite.....i have never seen the amount of pads and hydrilla i saw at sheldon......

Man I'm still edging to fish that lake, I just don't know if that ramp will treat a 22' boat too nicely....

Yeah that's the first thing I thought was how in the world did he chunk a crankbait in Sheldon lol, That's a good lure of choice since the water is high. Fish don't hardly ever see a crankbait, I fished there once last summer. Want to make it up there again soon.

I can't find that pic or I would post it.

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

All that stuff is floating, just pushed it with my boat, N wind predicted for next few days will make it a LOT worse. Was hoping to get out again Sat morning, but we will see. Almost all of the Hyacinth is gone and pads only on that far W side for the most part. Least amount of vegetation I have ever seen this time of year on Sheldon. I usually stop around May or so as the vegetation grows so thick by then, its hard to work anything for me at least.
