I need some advice on where to catch big shad at Lake Waco. I can catch little shad on the bubbles by the dam but have never seen large shad there. I am trying to find big enough shad to catch hybrids. Any ideas? If not does someone know a good hybrid guide that I could go out with to learn more about it?

Are you catching bait by boat?

I've never fished Waco, but plan to one day...

I find larger gizzard shad in coves this time of year. They've been in areas 3-8' deep. Look for flickers on the surface. Get over to the area you see flickers as quick as you can and throw your net!
