Thinking about getting a float tube for my birthday. I was looking at the Classic Accessories Cumberland float tube. Anybody have any experience with them? I see a lot of good reviews but want some feedback from the TFF members. I usually bank fish and carry around 4 or 6 rods at a time for different applications so I'll probably have to downsize... right? I thought about a kayak but the issue of storage and transportation come up with that, but, I could carry more gear in theory. So my questions are... Cumberland float tube good? Will I be able to carry at least 4 rods and a tackle back pack? Or should I look for a kayak that wont break the bank? Thanks in advance to anybody that has any input for the matter!

+1 thumb Never owned a Cumberland and I`m sure it is a fine fishing platform but the Fish Cat 4 is really tuff, durable and like fishing from your favorite lounge chair. You can easily carry four rods if you have a multi rod holder system. Just Google "Cumberland float Tube" to get an Idea.

You can make a multi rod holder. I made a 3 rod holder using 3, 12 inch pieces of pvc sink drain and Plexiglas. Used velcro strips run thru the D rings to hold it on.

I like mine....I do fish nice and high out of the water compared to the Togiak i also own. The bottom of the skegs(floats?) are reinforced and they do seem to be tough. Rod holders were a kinda after thought and i do need to look on line and see what i can do with some PVC to craft a rod holder.
I'm pretty happy with mine and it is nice and comfy.

Keep 'dem lines tight and enjoy the fight....!
