What is everyone's opinion of the Talon? Pros and cons.

DO a search lots of info out there. I just pulled one off of my boat.

They are solid units. Hold well. Two are better than one to hold you directionally, but one will hold the boat in place if you plan for wind direction before deploying. They are on the heavy side compared to power poles. Depends on your boat. Mine needed a hydrofoil to help it get on plane faster but the shape of my transom allowed it and it's bracket to really create drag in water. Some boats don't get effected much at all on planing. Top end, It has almost no effect on your speed. The hinges to fold it down are nice add ons and maybe necessities depending on the size of talon and your parking situation.

I love mine and am only getting rid of it because my boat just wasn't made to handle the weight and drag on the back. I've had it off for a week and already miss it.

Owned a few of them in saltwater. They are great. kinda like them better than power pole.

I have 2 of the older 8' Talons, they work great just remember to flush them out every now and then. That being said, I purchased a 112 Minn Kota Ultrex a couple of months ago, and if I had to decide between the Talons and the Ultrex, the Ultrex wins hands down, and will cost about the same as one Talon and bracket.
