Going to get a few days off toward the end of next week. Can't decide what lake to go to. not sure what condition Toledo, rayburn, and Livingston might be in. everytime I have been to caddo it has been extremely muddy. Any suggestions on which lake to gamble my last few off days on that has places to stay and be within three hours from Kilgore?

Head over to Regans lodge at Bob Sandlin then choose between Sandlin, Cypress Springs, Monticello and Welsh. Weekdays best for Welsh, can get crowded on weekends.

Regans "Lodge"? That's an overstatement... LOL. Agree with the plan, just not necessarily the lodging recommendation. Four lakes in that close proximity where you can fish the way you want to fish. Shallow Grass/Pads = Monticello, Cypress. Deep points = Monticello, Cypress, Sandlin. Flipping docks = Cypress, Sandlin. Timber = Monticello, Welsh, Sandlin. Matted Hydrilla = Welsh. Rock, etc, etc, etc.

Caddo is stained right now and Iv'e been catching 10 to 15 a day averaging 1 to 5 lbs. If I was going to run away from home for a couple of days during the week I'd go to Fork and stay at Mustang Resort.

Just make sure you can buy gas to get to and from the lake. Haha.

This "fuel shortage" might hamper my fishing plans.

Good point, I passed 5 stations on the way home just now. One was already out and the other 4 had lines a half mile long and a couple of the jackwagons had raised their prices 40 cents since last evening. Same as looting in my book.
