Is approaching fast. Any of you guys going to make the journey this year? With the forecast already in the hundreds here, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's going to be a hot son of a gun this year.

I haven't signed up yet, but 2 buddies and I are planning on doing the whole 100.

I know a few peeps training for it.

I doubt I will make it this year sort of tapped out on my next two events. $$.

I will try again next year. Everyone said it was a blast.

Same here I know few folks that have been training. It is on the bucket list and hope to do 1/2 of it in the coming year or 2.

I wouldn't say it's a blast, but it is a cool experience if you can make it through the whole thing.

I really wanted to beat my riding time from last year, but with the two guys joining me, I suppose we'll just ease through it.

I haven't decided if I'm riding this year or not. I finally rode for the first time this year on Monday and again yesterday.

I'm out of town the week leading up to it so it'll depend on if I get enough training in the next couple of months and if I can get my trip shorted a day to make it home on Thursday night instead of Friday.

Well it's right around the corner, any of you fellas decide you're going to do it? We're going to Vernon this weekend for the Vernon Burnin' doing a 100K. I think everything will go good, just a good ride to make sure everything is working right, and to see how prepared you are.

10 Day Forecasts are all over the place right now, from high near 100 mostly sunny with no rain to high near 90 and cloudy, and then everything in between with rain chances all over the place. I'd settle for a mid 90's high and humid. grin

As far as costs, entry is $40 and I believe you can stay Friday night at the downtown YMCA for $30, or $50 for both Friday & Saturday - air conditioned, showers, breakfast, and secure bike storage included. There's also options for meals in the HHH registration. They do a huge spaghetti dinner the night before.

Best of luck this weekend with the HHH.

Well gott'er done. Faster than last year, but wish I'd really crushed it, pretty sure I could do it under 5 hours, not counting stops. I did it in 5:24. It was a long day, but everyone I started with finished. More astounding than me doing a hundred, my 3 year old finished the 10K with mom. Talk about a proud dad moment. He's pumped up about it. My wife said over and over she'd ask "are you sure you want to keep going?" and he's say "YEAH, COME ON MOM!"

I did this hundred a little different that last years. I started with the GU gels at the start, and then every 20, and we started our rest stops at 30, and stopped every 20 so I was alternating GU gels with fruit/pb&j/cookies every 10 miles. I think around 70 the group told me and another to just go on, every man for themselves so I turned it on, ended up averaging over 20mph from then to the finish - I was ready to be done...

Couldn't have asked for better weather, the sun didn't pop out till we were leaving the stop @ mile 50, and that's also when the wind started blowing but it wasn't too bad. If you were going to ride a century, that was the weekend to do it. My buddy did it with a wicked stomach bug, and has also only been riding since this spring, so if he can do it, I'm pretty sure just about anyone can. They also had two T-38's from Sheppard do a flyover at the start, I've got a good video of my ride, but youtube isn't letting me upload it but when it does I'll post it. Here's some pictures, enjoy.

5th picture down is doing it on a single speed. flehan

To get a grasp of how many people there are, in the 3rd picture I started between 3rd and 4th streets. My wife and little one started from 10th. The big blue building with the clock on top is at the corner of 8th for reference.
