Who knows anything about Wright-Patman?
Looking for a spot for some camping and fishing over Thanksgiving.
Meeting my Arkansas in-laws in the middle somewhere.
Who has the info?

If that's the general area you want to meet, might try Hugo lake just across the border in OK. I've had unbelievable fishing trips in the fall there, not as late as TG, but depending on the weather, I think it would work as well as WP. Only fish up the river, not main lake. There is a launch up on the north end in some creek or another. Only lodging I'm aware of is in the town of Hugo, but there may be something else.

Atlanta State park is a great spot to camp as well as Piney point both are close together off hwy 59 ...well marked corp signs....went over the river today and they were releasing a ton of water...folk are bragging about catching crappie...quite a few coves that hold bass along the east bank from piney point.

+1

Most of the northeastern to southeastern parts of the lake are clear to run. However, there are lots of stumps and some shallow areas away from the bank heading up into Elliot creek, Big creek (there's a boat lane here), and basically everything north and west of Bells island (there's a boat lane here that will get you from the main lake to Kelly creek). Run at your own risk west of Berry Farm park. The stumps west of there aren't super abundant, but it's absolutely not clear (the stumps get thicker on the south side near the Sulphur river channel). Fishing can be really good up the Sulphur river, fishing vegetation, but getting there from the main lake is shady at best.

Strongly suggest you get a paper map from a local shop to see stump fields and boat lanes. The Navionics cards, for example, are not very helpful on Patman.

Bass are always shallow on Patman. Fish flooded bushes or vegetation less than 5 ft deep, or fish main-lake points with crankbaits and Carolina rigs. It's not worth the effort to try to find offshore bass here.
