Hi Group -
I am headed to Lake Whitney this weekend for a little labor day trip with a few friends. We have never been to lake whitney and plan on getting a striper guide for one day. I do more bass fishing so was planning on fishing the other two days for bass. I own a bass boat I will be towing up there. Any tips/lures you would recommend? Is it clear water? Should we target deep water or shallow? Did they get a lot of rain over the weekend?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking for anyone's honey holes, just want a basic lay of the land out there. Don't know if Ill fish it again.

On another note, thoughts and payers going out for everyone in the bastrop/la grange/Houston area.

Not much rain. Water vis is about 18" mid lake. Clearer as you go towards the dam. This weekend their was a decent bite early but tough after 10AM. Unstable weather may have had something to do with it. I would stay from mid lake to the dam. Fish were mostly shallow in places with deep water close by.
