I've avoided these for a long time. But I recently started fishing nighttime tournaments, and my bright white compartment lights are blinding at night - really jacks up your night vision. I started thinking it would be nice to get just a few blue LED's mounted around the front deck to allow me to see everything while it's pitch black out, but still maintain my night vision.
I don't want to do green or red, even though those would probably be best for maintaining my night vision. I don't want someone (including Game Wardens) confusing them with my bow lights. I'd like something with a dimmer switch so I can keep the glow to a minimum. Not looking for "bling" here - Looking for functionality while I'm out on the water fishing on the front deck.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
All the best, Glenn
If at first you don't succeed, buy newer / better equipment!

I had blue ones, green ones, then tried multi colored ones......they are ALL TOO BRIGHT to fish with.
Best bet is to use a StreamLight head band light.

I added these from blue water led. Inside lights are on a dimmer, outside are black lights to see my lines better.

In my Mako w/ T-top i have 2 lumitec Caprera2 dimable spreader lights. They switch from blue to white and are dimable, but wont work in a bass boat-type setup. For my aluminum boat I bought the white led strips off amazon https://www.amazon.com/YITAMOTOR-Motorcy...ght+strip+white and spread them throughout the inside of the boat. They are not blinding and put out just enough light.
