I have checked the TPWD guide book for limits on freshwater drum and see nothing in regards to any limits to size or daily catch?
does anyone know what Texas state laws are for drum?

There is no limit on Freshwater Drum! There is a limit on Freshwater Red Drum that are stocked usually in power plant lakes. The limit is three. There is also a size limit on the Reds. breakdance

Some folks don't eat drum. They are missing out. They have nice white meat that fries up nicely.

Agreed. Drum can be downright tasty. Same can be said for carp if they are taken from good clean water. In many places in the world carp are considered both a prized gamefish and a food fish. Only here are they considered a trash fish. One problem with carp is the bones but if you know how to score them correctly the bones pretty much cook down like they do in canned salmon. Smoked carp is really good.

Drum is my favorite fish to fry. It's not as flaky so it doesn't ever fall apart when taking it out of the fryer or when eating...except after a bite.

Been catching a big little ugly every time i fly fish on Ray Roberts lately! They do provide relief, and are fun to sight cast for, but the last one just laid over in that hot shallow water.

I personally think Freshwater Drum are some of the prettiest fish in our waters. And yes...they are some good eating, with no harvest limits! The only Gar with limits is the Alligator Gar, so check the rules for your body of water.

Gasper Goos under 1 pound or less than 13" are about like eating sand bass and aren't bad at all. The bigger they get the meat gets course and slimy. They make better cut bait or fertilizer. The big ones can be a hoot to catch in swift running water.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!
