Would like to know peoples opinion of Nitro boats. Some people have told me they are made cheaper than the rangers, bass cats, skeeter boats and that they don't last as long. They look so nice and have a lot of accessories. Not sure what to believe.

The high end hulls are decently built, the lower end (800) series are pretty cheap.
One fact, the high end are built heavy and thick.

the newer it is the better quality it will be they have stepped up their game as far as quality. when folks say used they wont hold their value there is also a big difference of price when they are new.

What do you think of the new 2018 nitro 19 footer?

I have heard the nitro's are made cheaper and I have also heard they are better. It just comes down to personal preference.

I was looking at a Nitro myself but after seeing a Triton in person the fit, finish and overall quality of the Triton puts Nitro to shame. I'm no expert when it comes to boats, but to me the Nitros just seem like cheap production models compared to the other options out there.

I have a 2017 Z-19 and it's great. New hull design is a great improvement. Has a Merc 200 ProXS and with just me will hit 70 + mph. Storage is well designed. Hydraulic steering. They have come a long long way.

hate to bust the triton guys bubble they are built in the nitro plant . the boat builders that are left are like all the other things that are made here they had to get better or get out of business. nitro builds a good boat at a fair price .

They might be built in the same plant, but I saw the fit and finish with my own eyes. The bells & whistles, seats, carpet (both inside the storage and around the edge of the lid) are nicer. The attention to detail is more apparent.

I owned a Nitro for years. My best friend just bought a new Nitro about 6 months ago. ...a Z18 with a 175 ProXS. I just bought s 2004 Skeeter 190TZX with a 150 Yamaha. My Skeeter is the same length and width. My Skeeter is a tiny bit faster than his with 25 less horsepower. His Nitro has thin vynil that isn't going to last long. The carpet is the thinnest stuff made. His cheaply made PLASTIC gauge panel is already warping from the Texas heat. His 80lb Fortrex creeks because the bow is thinner glass and Nitro only installed 4 bolts to attatch it. They also did not install the aluminum leg to brace it onto the deck during stow. His boat only had a two bank charger for three batteries as rigged from BPS. His trailer has the cheapest Fulton jack made and cheap Chinese tires. Nitros have a couple small hinges on each storage door and the Skeeter has full length piano style hinges.

I can go on and on as to why the boats cost less than other boats. It isn't because the motors, batteries, and accessories cost less....they don't. The BUILD of the boat is where the cost cutting was done.

My old Nitro was built stronger than his new one.

For the life of me, with all the thin glass and plastic on those new Nitros, I can't figure out why they weigh so much. My guess is that the glass/resin combo is why, but not sure.

I bought my 896 Savage new in 1996 and other than a couple of powerheads and a couple of lower units( caused by me) have never had a problem with the boat... I know I have towed it over 100,000 miles and never had a failure of a pump or any other electrical part. And had it in some pretty big water... in fact Speared a big Rogue Wave one day and filled the boat up to the gunnels and kept it moving... that scared my passengers but came out okay... it has a great hull... the only thing that seemed subpar were the ABS glove box compartments and longevity.... in my opinion they are a great value compared to your more expensive boats...

So far I have been really pleased with my 2007 591 with 150 EFI. I have fished out of basscats, legends, skeeters, etc and I can definitely see the value increased in some of the details. But for the cost savings of a Nitro over the other big brands I don't think the benefits outweigh the costs. If I were in the market for a new boat, the new Z series would be at the top of my list for sure.

Glad you're pleased with the boat... You're the only one that counts since you're writing the checks... Dan thumb

Buy what you like and unless someone else is stroking the check don't worry about what they think.
