Just wanted share some pics of an old Zebco I have and keep hanging onto. Story is a friends uncle got for retirement in 1958, I acquired in 1992 when I helped him with an estate settlement. Still in the original package as he received it in 1958.

Wow, $45.90 in 1958! Just did a quick online calculator of 1958 to 2017 dollars: $45.90 in 1958 would be $338.36 in 2017. Premium stuff right there.

The Original Zebco 33 was, by far, the best reel ever made.

I just ran my three old 33’s through the ultrasonic cleaner one at a time until the water stopped turning black and reassembled with some good lube and all three are slicker than snot. Now I need three good cheap rods to make some good pier fishing rods.

I’ll snag old Zebco and Abu Swedish reels on sight.

Holy smoke! I had no idea they were expensive in 1958. $46 in ‘58 is equivalent to about $380 today.

I sent these pics to the VP of Marketing at Zebco/Quantum. He said that was a pretty rare package and surprised to see the wrapper still on.

Thanks for sharing!
