I'd recommend a 2 year old boat with all the goodies, low hours and a warranty. Let the original owner take the hit. You can probably save $20,000.00.

If you do it, go brand new and not used. I was in the same mindset that you're in, just couldn't stand the thought of spending that much. So I bought a newer used boat, mistake...

Man achieves greatest wealth when what you work hard for goes to yourself and not others! Don't know your situation but with a boat that you "love" is paid for Maybe you do some great upgrades with "monthly payments" you would now be locked in to For who knows how long your thinking. That's just my 3 cents worth.

You only live once. As long as you can afford the payments plus higher insurance without hurting your family's way of life, and your income is rock solid beyond the duration of the financing, then buy that thing. Build it exactly how you want it with the exact colors you want so that you'll want to keep it a long time.

I am in the same boat. Excuse the pun. But I have a 2011 zx 190. I love my boat and it's paid for. I have 2 sons, one that already fished with me and when my youngest boy gets big enough to come along my wife wants to come along too. We will need a bigger boat in the few years. I have been doing my research and looking at all the pros and cons of all different manufacturers. I will know what I want when the times comes. I say get what you can afford. My next one will be a top of the line, and i will keep forever.

Mine was paid for and I loved it. Only reason I sold it and bought another was because I wanted a warranty on the motor.

I envy your situation.
Do not answer, just for you to think about:
Is everything else paid for that is essential and other debt? IRA 401k maxed out every year, 2 years of annual living by expenses saved is everything else paid for like House, trucks, cars, life, insurance, college loans.
What do you want that the new boat has that your boat doesn't and more so can't have?
If you like how it rides, happy with size; space, storage, and not worried about hull or motor then,
I would be opportunistic and just look and wait for a killer deal that has everything you want to the T

Buy during wintertime. Seems best deals then most times. I truly agree to buy 1-2 year old boat and don't take hit on depreciation. Maybe find a pro-staff deal and get a year old used boat that will title as brand new and have full warranty starting with your purchase. Oh and pay cash!

At the end of the day it's still not an Allison which has a better fishing and handling hull if u got money to blow. But a Phoenix and never look back man. Ur back will be happier and easier to drive. Tons more storage. I found a 3ysr old 920 loaded for 40k while back. Smoking deal from a team member

That's a Bullet 21XRS .... an Allison XB21 ain't got chit on this boat as in a better fishing platform. Performance wise they're close to the same....I've owned an XB21 and currently own a XRS. And Phoenix or a Allison is not a better riding boat than this XRS. I fish from my buddy's Phoenix quite often. Not saying that Phoenix and Allison are not great boats, just saying that they are not better and easier to drive than an XRS, that's just plain false!
