Here in Austin area, the eclipse of the sun will take place between 11:40am and 2:40pm. I'm planning on fishing my part of Lake Travis tomorrow morning, and hoping the heat will let me stay out until 'clipse time.

Any opinions on what the total eclipse of the sun will do to fishing? Inquiring minds want to know.

I was curious of what it would do to the fishing, I'm further north se we'll get a little bit more coverage. Unfortunately I'm sitting here at work writing this... Report back if you're on the water today!

Well, I caught 4 LMB that were bend-your-rod-under-the-boat fighters, but when they came out of the water were basically 1-1/2 pounders. Fun, though.

All caught before 8:30am on watermelon/red baby brush hogs, Texas rigged, from the base of dead brush tops in 6-9 FOW just before a drop-off to 25'. So, basically the same as on a non-eclipse day for me.

More information: this occurred around a marina in the Calcasieu point/Thurman Bend area of Lake Travis.
