25 years ago it all started. Posted on: August 15, 2017 In an earlier Facebook post I mentioned how 25 years ago I was getting ready to go on a Crappie fishing trip to Mississippi. I had not been Crappie fishing much at this time so I needed a couple of Crappier rods for the trip. I remember going to different buddies houses and asking to check out the Crappie rods they were using so I could see what I wanted. As I held each of these rods I started to get rather disappointed in the difference in quality between my Bass rods (I used to love to Bass fish) and the Crappie rods on the market. I kept asking why isnt there a better, more stout Crappie rod? I figured I couldnt be the only one thinking like this. Turns out there wasnt really anything out there on the market that was near the quality I wanted. We were headed to Lake Washington to tackle monster Crappie with I was sure was weak inferior tackle. How on earth were we going to get these fish in the boat with this? Its funny how a story like this comes to us at a strange time. I actually just remembered it the other day and here I am 3 years into a Crappie rod business with a sole purpose of making hard core Crappie fisherman happy and designing the ultimate, lightweight, strong and durable Crappie rod. I guess I have been frustrated longer than I thought. Part of it must have been that I came from Bass fishing and knowing that there was every conceivable design, weight, action and you could buy a rod that felt like a broomstick to sling in a 5 lb Bass if need be. There was definitely a gap in the market for a new company with a very different outlook and a drive that focuses on nothing more than creating customer satisfaction and a Crappie rod that is like nothing else on the market. It is by far the most challenging adventure of my life and I hope to be around for many years to come. I am getting better everyday and talking with the absolute best customers on the planet. I love being able to talk fishing with new people on a daily basis. I am still working a full time job for the time being as I dont want to take anything from the business for a while till I build up greater buying power. So hopefully you all are enjoying the ride as much as I am. Together we will make the absolute best rods on the water. I am always working on new rod designs and trying to figure out better ways to focus on the customer experience. So I just wanted to say Thank You and without the trust of many great Crappie fisherman/customers I would still be cussing my Crappie rods. Always remember to take those kids fishing and be courteous on the water. Oh, and release those pigs for another day. Andy Lehman. The above is the latest blog post from 3 days ago on the ACC Web Site for any who might be interested. As I have stated before Andy may not be from Texas, but I know he would fit in just fine here in the TFF Family of Crappie Fisherman. He wants the customers who buy his rods to be happy and he is all about getting the kids on the water for Crappie Fishing. He is redoing the web site and it is getting better by the day. If you look under dealers you will see The Minnow Bucket at Fork listed as an official dealer for them now and so is Spirit Jigs! Got ACC? My definition for my ACC rods is "A Crappie Catching" Rod! Tight Lines to All.

Definitely the best feeling rod I've ever held myself too. Own several of those green beauties myself. Pretty fond of the red one I have also. We try to keep a stack of them in our baitshop, people seem to be catching on tot that and emptying the rack pretty regular. Awesome company, great product, and excellent prompt service. Speaks for itself. Andy is a great guy to do business with also. What more can you ask for.

Andy is a real standup guy. Just got a hand written thank you note from him, today in the mail! How many of those have you ever got, for buying a rod? I can count the number on one finger. LOL Thanks Andy, you sell a great rod.

Do the ACCCrappiestix rods only come in a two-piece rod? Also, other than the 5'6" dock shooter, do the rods only come in the longer rods? I have an 8' but I only see 10' or longer on the website.

He has the 5'6" which is new. He has 8 Foot and up to 16 Foot I believe is the longest. All Rods are two piece. I've only fished 8 Foot and 10 Foot. The Minnow Bucket at Fork should have all sizes in stock currently. If your looking for a particular size call Tony at The Minnow Bucket to make sure before you make the drive. Happy to Help.

Sorry Hogon, Wife and I made the drive down saturday and got the only 2 8 footers they had but they still had a few 10's and 11's. They look good and feel really nice can't wait to try them on some Lewisville slabs!!!

I was at the Minnow Bucket this weekend and Tony showed me a few he had behind the counter that a customer was picking up. I saw the green 8', and it's a very well made, great feeling rod. If he starts carrying them I'll take a couple of those. JIM

I have the green ACC 8' and no kidding, if I'm fishing with minnows, I can feel the minnow wiggle just before the crappie nails him.

Serj5150 Glad you were able to get you some 8 Footers. Glad to hear others have experienced the same great customer service with Andy as I have. Just spoke with Andy. He had been out of all length rods since the end of April and got his shipment of 2600 Rods on July 04th. They are sold out of 8 Footers again. Only took 6 weeks to sell out. Wow! If you are looking for an 8 Footer my advice is call one of the dealers (Spirit Jigs etc.) on his web site and see if they happen to have any left. Andy has no more 8 Footers at this time. If he has it on his web site then he has it in stock. As you can read in his Blog post above he still works a Full Time Regular job as he is growing his business and trying to get in the position of stronger buying power. He has already placed the order for more 8 Footers, but it's gonna be another 3-4 months. It takes a long time to get them which is something Andy is trying to work on. Hence grow the business and get in a position of stronger buying power. Try a Dealer for an 8 Footer or get yourself another size while supplies last. I think the fact that he sells out of his rods as fast as he does speaks to their quality and the high demand for them. JIM SR. I would try one of the dealers ASAP and see if you can get some 8 Footers or Grab some 10 Footers or longer while you can. Palomar glad you are enjoying the sensitivity of your ACC. Tony at The Minnow Bucket and Spirit Jigs (Both Texas Dealers) as far as I know are going to be carrying all other sizes as long as they are available. If you don't get what you are looking for Size wise this go around you will just have to wait until the next order comes in which I would say will be Nov/Dec/Jan. Just remember good things come to those who wait. Still have other lengths in stock. I have the Dock Shooter, the 8 Footer, and the 10 Footer. Love them all! Just keeping you in the loop. Tight Lines To All!

Zig-Zag you can go to www.acccrappiestix.com or call a dealer for the price. It's all based on length. Hope you find a size you are looking for.

I just ordered some more 10 Footers and a couple of the 12 Footers.
I just noticed the 14 and 16 Footers are three piece rods.

Here is the Blog from the 20th.
Posted on: August 20, 2017
Hey everyone I am getting tons of questions about rod lengths. I am sold out of the 8′ rods and I can not get these in quick enough. However, if you give the 10′ and 11′ jigging rods a try I truly believe you will actually like these rods better. Heres why, First of all you have a mechanical advantage as you have more hook setting and sweeping power. You can stay further away from your intended target which is very important when trying not to spook Crappie. For the most part your guides and tournament anglers will only use 10 and 11′ rods and sometimes a 12′ jigging rod. They just want that power and distance gap. If youre in 10-12′ feet of water you just set the hook and swing the Crappie in the boat. You can go all day without grabbing for the reel.
I have guided many people new to Crappie fishing over the years and at the end of the day they were sold on the longer rods. Dont get me wrong the 8 definitely has its place but I think its suited better for casting and corking, techniques that require more use of the reel. I hope this helps a little and if you are not convinced then please return the rod for a full refund. I want you to enjoy your valuable time on the water. I care more about keeping you happy for the long run. So if you have any more questions like this please let me know at crappieguy1@hotmail.com. Have a great fishing week and take those kids fishing even if they say they dont want to go like my daughter does sometimes. Andy Lehman.
