All this talk had me wishing I could take my kayak down to Choke after things settle.

It would be off the wall in 2 years! Of course you'll have to have 100lb braid and a pool cue to possibly pull anything out of the jungle below.

I'm sadly thinking that this storm won't do much since it's heading the wrong way for the recharge zone. frown hopefully it's gets something decent out of it.

Yes, the gators will have lots of new growth to hide in and they would enjoy the tasty snack above.

They're calling for 10 -15 inches around Tilden and there are a lot of creeks that feed choke from there. I'm guessing it gets a 5 foot bump. Mathis will fill up due to the atascosa river water shed getting hammered. Too bad it passes just east of chokes dam

Yeah, looks like it will hit other side of the high bridge, Ingleside/Aransas Pass etc. It needs to go in further south to get more ran at Choke.

The big Chreeks on Mathis are all on the west side, but I think they will get a fair amount of water. Mathis is a pretty good water shed, just has to much out flow due to poor managment and politics.

5 ft is probaly a pretty good guess for Choke. I'd sure like to see more.

Thanks, Billy

Flood warning already up for the atascosa river like I thought. Lake corpus will for sure fill up and hopefully they hold it for a while considering there will be plenty of fresh water in nueces bay and in turn hold water in choke b/c there will be no reason to let water into an already full lake corpus.

Right now Mathis is larger in surface area than Choke. This is the major problem right now. Every foot of water that Mathis needs is more than a foot in Choke.
If Choke can fill to surface acres exceeding Mathis it will stabilize.

It's flooding on choke now. North and east is a constant rain train towards it

Choke gets a minimum of a 10' bump. If the storms makes the U turn like they are saying, don't be surprised if the lake does not fill up. Either way, I am sure glad I did my time and marked a lot of good spots on my GPS,

I only hope everyone is safe and not too terribly affected by the storm. But I do hope the lake benefits tremendously by the rain. It's a double edged sword!

How do you figure and where are you getting this info. All I've seen on radar so far is a few small showers and the lake has actually dropped.

None of the rivers heading into choke have more than 1.5' in them.
