Started the day with a dead boat battery, never a good sign, but got it started after charging it with my jumper cables off the trolling motor battery. So after our delayed start, got on the water about 8 am. Got a few shad in the cast net, and set out for the SW part of the lake where I had been catching sandies, hybrids, and cats.

Didn't see any sandies surfacing.... fished some ridges, the dam, some humps that come up to about 20 feet of water, and didn't catch S Q U A T. Drifted with live shad, threw spinners, spoons, rattle traps, etc..... Couldn't even catch em' trolling a Hell-Pet..... THAT'S how slow it was....

Where were all the other fishin' boats? Y'all know something I don't know, or that due to back to school?

Well, sorry to hear that. I was going to go out too, but life got in the way.

Same here i fished it on Friday and had the same luck. Caught one catfish slabbing. Tried the lake Dallas cuts, gravel pit, twin poles and the big flat north of the toll bridge and didn't mark much at all. Hopefully this weather will start stabilizing and the fishing will improve.

This time of year can be tough. The fish are moving around a lot covering water. There is a heavy thermocline in parts of the lake you need to avoid. The white house has held some fish lately for me. Here soon the fall pattern will arrive and you will find them surfacing early in the morning just south of the little elm bridge as well as north of the toll bridge on the flat just south of the island. the birds will give them away. they were there this morning at the little elm bridge.

Went to wrong lake. Caught over 100 white bass on Ray Bob. Big schools stayed on top for 2 hours. Left them biting.

If you saw a couple kayaks by the dam Sunday afternoon, that was me and the missus. We didn't catch anything either and other boaters I talked to said it was dead slow. Just one of those days I guess.

Better fishing is just around the corner. Heading up to Ray Bob to spend some time this weekend and will hopefully find some fish if we don't get rained off the lake. Supposed to be cooler weather though.

Came up around 9:30 a.m. Saturday they did same thing. Look for birds and boats. Pretty easy catching. I HATE TO FISH. LOVE TO CATCH!! Using small rattle traps. Blue/silver or black/silver. Did not want big baits.
