Lithiums in the Motorguide Xi5 remotes. yay or nay?
The reason I ask is the Panasonic batteries it came with were DOA and I have already replaced them with standard Rayovacs without ever being on the water yet.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

I just use the standard AAA batteries. They last a long time.

Might be something wrong if yours are already dead.

The foot control AA batteries were almost dead out of the box. They would barely sync up. Hand remote were 1.38v and also weak.
I have Lithiums in there now.

I haven't used my foot control in over a year. I couldn't of told you what was in there.

Batteries in my hand remote were DOA as well, I called MG about it before realizing that was what was wrong, the said that they had gotten some bad batteries, once replaced it's worked flawlessly every since.

Hot diggity. This thing sure works great. Pulled up to about 8ft off a buoy and hit the anchor. It held probably within 6" of the spot for about an hour while I chunked humdingers at sand bass. I needed a permanent reference is why I picked the marker buoy. I posted a short vid on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/stephen.pannell1/videos/1654258444584457/
