Hey guys got a ranger rt 188 dealer mounted humminbird transducer right behind the tabs on boat. Reads fine at idle but looses bottom soon as I get going looses bottom. Guess to much turbulence behind trim tab. What should I do don't really want to drill more holes. Help.!

Can you post a pic? You may have to mount a piece of starboard to move the transducer without drilling more holes. Just use the existing holes from the original transducer to screw the starboard to the transom along with some epoxy. Make sure the starboard is long enough to extend far enough right or left to avoid the tabs and strakes. Cabelas did this to my brothers ranger mpv and we had to fix it.

Can you provide a bit more info. What speed are you losing the reading? Are you losing the sonar image or are is the depth number on your unit bouncing at incorrect depths and showing something not even close?
