Great fishing Friday. A little slow Sat morning. They were on fire again today
Left Willow Beach a little after daylight this morning. Motored down to the river and caught 19 hand size shad and some little gizzards. Back on the big motor we proceeded to mid lake. Stopped and put the baits down and it didn't take long for them to find us. Limit of ten fish. Biggest was pushing ten lbs. It took less than 20 minutes to catch our limit. We offered our shad to the boat next to us. They pulled up beside us and started fishing the largest silver spoon I have ever seen any one fish in fresh water. The started wacking them on the spoon.
Back home fish cleaned way before noon.
There is a good top water bite on pencil poppers if don't mind getting up real early or staying out until dark.
Green dock lights are loaded with lots of black bass and sand bass at night.

Great report randy. Lack of available shad has really put a damper on my striper fishing. Even with my heavy weighted cast net with double the weight I cannot catch the shad in the deep water. No shad no stripers. Maybe I need to buy some ocean spoons?

Green lights are sure the ticket for sandies.
