I have both also and I use the Abu more than the Lews cause it just physically fits better and cast better for me . The Abu is a Pro Max Low Profile , smooth as silk casting : http://www.abugarcia.com/abugarcia-reels...15&start=19 . The Lews is a BB1 Speed Spool . Great reel , cast very nice : https://www.lews.com/casting/bb1 . But as I said I prefer my Abu over the Lews .

Both are great reels, myself I converted to 100% Lews, they just felt better in my hand. Just go pick them up and play with them and see what fits you best.

Given the choice between the 2 I would take Lews over Abu

the only abu ive used that i like is the mgx. i have a ton of lews and havent had any problems with them, i have had problems with some abus before, the revo s. i have lews, shimanos, abus, 13s, and diawas. i like the lews the best overall. not to say that i dont like my higher end other brand reels though either. ill sell you a diawa sv103 if you want it roflmao

I have some of both and prefer the Abu's. The Lews are not bad though.

Plus a lot of the parts are interchangeable.

I prefer Lews BB1 Pro series and the Team Lews as well. It seems that they just stay together much longer and are quieter.

Abu is better, I used to have 12 lews combos and 5 abu combos and they were stolen. But now I have 22 combos mostly shimano and diawa but a few lews and abu but the best reels on the market are older shimano E series shimano cores aldebaran metanium curado200E citica200E chronarch200E and the only new shimano I like are the Curado Ks I have two and the higher end ones that are still made in Japan.
