Chipotle is my go to if I need to eat fast food. You can get a proper serving of protein - and "clean" protein - and can structure the bowl to your carb/fat needs

My once or twice a week meal is the roasted chicken at Golden Chick. Breast, wing, roll, side salad with italian dressing is 600-650 calories. Get rid of the roll and it is less than 500.

Does healthy eating at Chipolte mean "skipping" the tortilla and getting a bowl?
I love the burrito style, and I've never eaten there by only buying the "guts" and eating with a fork.

Sidenote:
Being "mobile" is key, and if the body is moving, it will burn just about anything. The numbers of leftover calories will take a toll, but getting up and being active is key.
I'd bet the main reason fast food eating is bad for you isn't the calories, it's the "laboratory additives that give cheap food shelf life" is the reason most of it is bad, not fat or calories.
...------ You hit it on the head, people just aren't active, pair that with super high cal fast food stuff and you're on a path to be large. I know in college when I worked at Discount Tire, 10 or so years ago, I 100% lived on Mountain Dew & Coors Light, Taco Bell, Braum's, Little Caesars, and sausage McGriddles. I didn't gorge myself on it, but working there slinging tires all afternoon kept me in as good as shape as I am right now. I'm living a 1000x's healthier right now, but weight wise, I'm pretty close to where I was then. When I quit there, I kept that same diet and together with a "easy" job, from then on, I pretty much weighed the most I've ever weighed. I might add that getting into the 30's, the body changes too. Things start to slow down. People still eat like they are a 13 year old boy in puberty....and you can't do that at 30+ anymore. Ha, Wait till you're 50...

Believe it or not, in terms of calorie count Taco Bell is one of the better fast food options.
Personally I am convinced that is because their meat has to be about half saw dust, which adds fiber.

...------ . No sir they have several tortilla options other than simply flour that are healthier. The calories are what get you along with inactivity as you mentioned. Some of their tortilla options now are lower calorie,"flavored" differently but in a good way, and with the portion size I usually eat half for lunch and the other half for dinner.
Grateful for every sunrise and sunset I get to witness. - Jason

You can find healthy or at least semi-healthy options just about anywhere. The trick is knowing what's okay to eat or how to make it okay to eat. I had the avocado bacon burger from Whataburger today and subtracted +/- 30 g of carbs by eating it without the bun. (I'm on a low-carb diet, btw.)
At the mexican joints, I'd order a guacamole salad with brisket or chicken or fajitas with guacamole and leave the tortillas to someone else.
Another tip. Go online and find the PDF nutrition info charts for all of your favorite places. I have an app on my phone that I store them in. Instead of looking at the menu, look at the nutrition chart to decide what your going to eat.

I'm kind of craving Chipolte right now, or Qdoba, which is the same thing, but I want the tortilla/burrito package.

just stop craving things that are bad for you. it isn't hard
if it makes it easier, Chipotle could kill you
or give you the squirts for a few days at least
