If you can't buy booze and uniforms what can you buy and save money? If you're not active duty, a reservist or guardsmen, why would you want to buy uniforms?

I contacted customer service by phone. Veterans other than retired or active duty cannot sign up until November 11.

Not to burst bubbles here, but I am retired military. I have had AAFES privileges for more than 50 years. Here are the facts as I see them.
1. Great customer service. None better. 2. Save on taxes 3. Limited selection. 4. You can often do better elsewhere. 5. Military Star Card is decent deal.

Because I live 50 plus miles from the nearest Exchange, I've not shopped their but twice.
Best of my recollection (and opinion of other vets. at the time) was that the Exchange prices were pretty comparable to prices downtown.
Tax savings on big ticket purchases could definitely be huge.
For those who use the Exchanges regularly. Is this still the case?

I rarely shopped there when on active duty. I never thought the prices were any cheaper so the only savings was on sales tax. Depending on which state you were stationed in, that may or may not mean something.
The one thing that was substantially cheaper was the booze. But that was always at a separate store, and I am not certain it was part of AAFES.

Talking to him now are y'all having problems with the vetverify part or shopmyexchange.com?
He said most will have to wait till Nov 11, but they are still allowing 1,000's to do it now for beta testing.

I had no problem once I got past the issue of Derek's computer aids. Signed up in 30 seconds or so
Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.
