Just came home and noticed that someone had hit my trailer last weekend. Weather was bad when I left so I didn't notice it until today. They sideswiped my fender and messed it up. I swear , you go out of your way to park it in an area that it will be protected from traffic while on the lake and it's like they go out of their way to hit it. I'm sure it came from one of the weekender pleasure boaters who don't know how to drive their boats and now I see they don't know how to tow them either! Looks like it's more cosmetic but still just chaps me. Now I have to go fix it so it won't cut my tire. Just lucky I didn't hit a big bump on the way home and blow a sidewall Guess I'll have to start inspecting it before leaving every trip now.

I don't understand why people are like this.

When I first bought my Skeeter many years ago, I backed into a guy's trailer one morning. He was out on the water at the time. So, as pissed-off at myself as I was and scared of what this was going to cost me (my trailer was damaged too), I decided to leave a note on his window with my name and number telling him that I hit his trailer and to call me when he got off the water. About mid-day while on the water, the guy calls me. I apologized for hitting his trailer and offered to return to the ramp to discuss settlement. He told me to not worry about it and that a "few scratches" gives it character (it was more than a few scratches). He then thanked me for being honest and owning my mistake.

I got lucky and hit a extremely forgiving guy (wish I could remember his name) and did not have to pay. But if you did what I did, do the right thing and own your mistake.

If they had just left a note, I'd have felt ok and just get a hammer and straighten it out and touch up the paint. Accidents happen. Not telling me, I want to kill them not to mention they could have caused me to have a wreck if that sharp edge had sliced the sidewall on the highway.

My solution for this and other problems was to buy a dash cam. Actually two might be better, one for the front and one for the back. Mine is easy to move to the back and plugs in to a 12V outlet. It's protection against red light runners and also idiots who breeze through stop signs. You'd be surprised what goes on when your truck/trailer is parked. Might even catch someone backing into someone else truck/trailer.

I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed.
