check for loose or broken wires around your connections, battery and starter, give the starter a few love taps.

Carry jumper cables in the future to connect the batteries in these type situations. Glad you got it figured out.

Is you battery dead? You might be able to swap battery cables / batteries? Be care of you try to jump if you have a 36V set up. You'll need to disconnect the extra battery. It could be fuse in the engine. I have that happen to me earlier this year. There was an extra fuse packed in the fuse box from factory. You might try calling one of the boat dealer services department. Someone might be able help walk you through what to check.

I'm pretty sure it's the battery. Once I hooked it up to one of my trolling batteries (after disconnecting it from the 36 volt setup), it cranked right up. It just so happens that I have a 3 bank charger, and they're all hooked to my trolling batteries. Guess I forgot to charge the cranking battery and I didn't go too far in order to charge it with the motor. Guess the HDS 8's drained it enough not to start. Lesson learned. I will definitely be buying a set of jumper cables to keep in the boat.

Spend $40 on a jumpbox at Wal-mart. Way easier then cables IMO. Mine has saved my arse more then once.

Jumper box is the way to go. I keep one in my truck and just move it to my boat when I'm at the ramp. A lot of these boat now days the rear compartment open to the back and it's a pain when you have to stand on your head to do anything much less move a battery.

To jump your cranking battery, you do not have to disconnect your 36v system. Hook em up just like you normally would and you're good to go. I promise.
