How has everyone been doing at Roberts in the past few weeks? I've been a couple times and I've thrown topwaters in shallow water early then I move out to deeper water and throw crankbaits and I've only caught a few, none over 3 pounds. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. God bless.

Tips I got were that it's more of a lake for c-rigging and flipping deep timber during the summer. It can also be a finicky bite, that lake but it's got a good offshore bite. Just takes time getting to know the lake. I've got several spots pinned on my navionics and I also use google earth and fishidy.com as other useful resources I have just mainly spent time on Lewisville for now whereas Ray Bob will be my other home lake.

If you can't find em wind em.

I've fished the lower end of the lake several times in the last few weeks. I've only caught a few bass each trip. Tried a lot of deep fishing and haven't had a single bite but always manage to catch 1 or 2 shallow on the way in or out. I did have 1 good day, found a school of bass pushing shad up against a steep bank and was able to catch several right quick. Disclaimer I fish out of a tube so i'm not very mobile and don't have electronics, but using navionics and fishing deeper drops or points hasn't produced for me c-rigging or deep cranking.

There are no fish in sonic pond EDIT: Except 1 20lb catfish

I have purchased an AID map and just received a Martin's Map which is apparently a better resource. Will definitely be out looking at brush piles and many other deep forms of cover in hopes of learning this lake better. I saw on here under the tournament threads that a few weeks ago, at the Tuesday night tourney (three fish mind you) 22 lbs. won and 2nd was 18... bang

Fishing is still excellent for big fish in my opinion. The schools have been in the same spots for 3 months now. Number of bites are slow. I am prob averavaging 4-5 in a 3 hour period but if you get bit it's generally gonna be a good one. Seems the lake is loaded with6,7 and 8s right now. Fish structure from 18-30
Feet. Any sort of bottom presentation should get you bit. Good luck.
