We're putting on an MLF Style Trail originating out of Central Texas.

August 19th is our first "fielding" tournament of the 2017 year. Lake Announcement is released 1 week prior to the event date. At the time of lake announcement the lake will go off limits to registered anglers, unless otherwise specified. This is an immediate catch and release "Major League Fishing (MLF)" style tournament trail designed to hone the skills of anglers against one another while keeping it enjoyable for everyone.

ALL Competitors will fish with an official in the boat. All scoring is individual.

Official Rules can be viewed at www.proambass.com and https://www.facebook.com/proambass/

Text "proambass" to 662-200-4303 to be alerted immediately when there are changes or email official@proambass.com.

Cost to register is $125.00 / angler to enter and $25.00 for the seasons membership in order to be eligible to compete. Registration is online only (there is a convenience fee for processing) and will close several days prior to the event in order to build all anglers within scoretracker live. Registration includes
big bass, MLF fees, and a $10.00 championship setaside to feed into championship payout.

Payouts are run at 80%.

We do accept volunteers to be boat officials and there are no costs to be a boating official but a mobile device is required to link with scoretracker live.

We currently have 6 rounds scheduled not including the fielding event. Anglers will be performance ranked based on round performance and earn points based on total weights caught during each round. Championship qualification will be determine by a cumulative points cutoff. The Championship will be 2 days with day 1 being a cut weight elimination followed by a final total weight competition.

Any questions please let us know! We hope to see you out there. Our current Schedule is below

August 19th
September 30th
October 28th
November 4th
January 20th
February 10th
March 16th

April 28th / 29th - Championship

We've just partnered with Texas Parks & Wildlife, Tightlines Premium Fishing Tackle, Tricked Out Marine, Linecutterz, TRC Rod Covers, and RiverSlung custom baits so we're including lakes all over takes. If the majority of anglers that register are from a given area then priority selection for the lake goes to that region. Definitely stay up with us!

Any idea what lakes are being considered?
Or what area?

Central Texas is a big area.

Apologies for the delayed response. I need to set this thing to alert me as soon as there is a response. We're willing to consider any lake in Texas, plus some in Oklahoma and Louisiana. If it's a fishable lake and an angler suggests it then it will be thrown in the pool for selection. Registrations for a specific round will have some influence on a given lake though. If 60 people register and 90% of them live in far east Texas then we wouldn't select a lake way across the state. That's just wrong.

The area selection is left big in order to allow for the most people to have a shot at getting a lake closer to them selected. Hope this answers your question. smile

Can you explain the fielding event vs the rounds? How does it all work? You have to fish the fielding event to fish the others? Registration closes when the lake is announced?

Ok, just so I understand-
The lake (Stillhouse Hollow) has been announced, and the registration is now closed ??
Then during the tournament you must fish for a certain time period in each of the three zones ??

The fielding event we've named so because I limited the field to 10 max., and we're using it to refine what procedures work vs what doesn't work on a larger scale. We can run a total of 60 to a round right now. Anglers still earn points towards championship status and ranking. It's just a way for us to field the rules, policies, and procedures to find flaws in the system.

You don't have to fish the fielding event to fish the other rounds. The only requirement is that you register as a member to fish any event. Registration is supposed to close when the Lake announcement is made but I'm seeing that could be a potential problem for the average angler to plan their upcoming week against so we're looking at that specific rule again after this weekend.

I currently have 2 more officials on standby if anyone wants to participate so for now I will accept a registration until Thursday. (This is an exception)

During the tournament there are three 2.5 hour fishing periods with a 30 minute break in between each one. Each period you will fish a different zone and be confined to that zone..leaving the zone to fish will impose a penalty. Prior to the start of zone 1 there is a 15 minute ride through period.

Ok. I got it. It's going to be tricky on the off limits and registering and all that. I will definitely keep an eye to see how y'all do. Hopefully it works out, it seems like a fun way to fish. If I could travel more I would do all of them.

Yes sir, nothing worth doing is ever easy. We'll figure out a way to make it work. Just takes some brain sweat to figure it out...and thick skin.
