And where do you keep all your stuff? Bought a 20' fish/ski this year but seems to be more like ski/fish as far as layout and storage.

If you have a rig you fish seriously out of - please share your tips and even pics if you have 'em. Thanks. Carter

Caught a DD out of my Tahoe :), kept baits in a Cabela's Tackle bag, I also had bow storage. Kept rods wherever they were out of the way and fit.

I fished out of a 190 skeeter for 10 years , worked great , just need a tackle bag , and move rods in and out every trip . Miss that windshield when its cold or raining .

Once I realized I didn't need to take my entire tackle collection with me, space became much less of an issue. I mostly keep everything I need in a BPS backpack whether I'm fishing out of my boat or sitting in the back of someone else's. The excess stays at home, and I'm slowly throwing away stuff that I realize I'm not using. I also cut my rod/reel combo collection down from about 25 to 12, so I don't need more than one rod locker. At one time I really wanted a fish/ski, then decided it wouldn't have enough storage to be a good fishing boat, but now I think I would be okay with it... but I'm keeping my bass boat for now!

I had that boat (ProCraft model) for 13 years. Won my fair share of tournaments in it while we lived in OK and my wife was going to OU. Yes it is tight on storage, my solution was to remove the left and right back seats and put my soft sided tackle boxes in their place when fishing. Tackle boxes were heavy enough that they never blew out.

I fished out of a skeeter SL 210 for 10 years or so. several problems that the others have mentioned: not enough storage for tackle, and no place to put rods. The other issue I had was that the seating is farther forward than in a bass boat, which made the ride in rough water more bouncy. traded it in for a ranger aluminum RT188; can't go 60+ mph anymore but I have plenty of storage space now.

it can be done, but definitely not as good for fishing as a real bass boat.

I fish out of a nitro z7 sport, it has a very similar layout to yours. I keep my plastics in a soft sided bag under the driver's console and then a larger tackle bags on my back seat. I was in the same mindset as you until I removed the front windshield. Now my rods can lay on the front deck and I can make full sidearm casts both ways down the back. Removing the windshield was a simple 4 screws, couldn't have been easier.

They are terrible to fish out of. The windshield is like a big sail, so fishing in the wind and holding yourself on a spot is almost impossible. Not to mention the fact it's always in the way. The ride sucks in rough water. There isn't anywhere to store anything. The front deck is tiny...the list goes on. I'd say unless you are skiing out of it 90% of the time and fishing the other 10% you'll never be happy with it.

Loved the fish n ski my brother used to have. We'd both bring our tackle bags or put all tackle boxes in one of those yellow boat bags from BPS. There was plenty of room for the tackle bags behind the front seats and they were always out of the way. Rods just went beside the passenger seat, when going from driving the boat to trolling motor you grab a few rods to take to the front with you. Never had an issue with a rough ride, in fact I think it took the rough water better than many 21' bass boats I've been in. The fish n ski is worth its weight in gold in the rain and in the winter months. Never had an issue fishing in the wind and holding on a spot, that really just comes down to putting the right thrust trolling motor on the boat and knowing how to properly set up on a spot. The only negative I can think of was having to take the rods out of the boat after each trip due to no rod storage.

I fished some tournaments out of a Ranger Reatta fish and ski last year and didn't have any problems. Really liked how much room there was with two tackle bags, ice chest and everything else we took and put in the floor and rods next to seats like buda 13 said. If I am not mistaken we also stored some rod and reels in the bottom center area of the floor compartment. It was a pretty nice boat to fish out of and was a fun boat to cruise around in and pull kids and grandkids on a large tube during family outings.

My buddy has a Ranger Reatta and fishes great! No problems and plenty of room.
Also I had a Skeeter fish/ski for about 10 years and we removed the front passenger seat so we had plenty of room. Like others have said was very good on cold days to get out of the wind while driving down the lake or just taking a break. Main issue for most people is the lack of a big front deck, if that's important to you then you probably won't be happy and of course two can't fish up front. I have a regular dual console bass boat now but if the right deal came along for a Reatta or Skeeter fish/ski I would definitely consider getting one.

Slide right, coming in .... Fish On!
