Good timing on this video, with some of the road riding talk lately. Interesting finding that cyclist overestimate their visibility by 700%. He didn't really mention a red light facing the rear, but IMO that's one of the most important pieces of equipment that goes on a ride.

That was my first purchase for my bike. Lights! Front and back.

Second purchase was bright color yellow jerseys. (Friend gave me a bright yellow/green helmet, god it's loud, but that's the purpose.)

It's actually hard to find bright jerseys...so many dark colors out there. Cool ones too, but heck no. I wanna stand out.

No matter how good or bad you have it, wake up each day thankful for your life. Someone somewhere else is desperately fighting for theirs.

I do most, if not all, of my street riding on weekends near huge business complexes that are closed for the weekends.

The parking lots and streets around them are usually very isolated.

We don't have too many business complexes here, but it is easier on the weekends, especially Sunday afternoons.

You're right BBT on the dark colored jerseys, that seems to be all there is. I want to get a new pair of shoes, wanted to do it before the HHH, but I don't think it's going to happen. Looking for something sleek, and BRIGHT! We'll see what's at the trade show. peep

I know florescent colors are brighter, but during the day, on an open road, I wonder if they're that much brighter. I used to be real big into kayak fishing, and remember seeing "studies" on the color of kayaks and their visibility on the water. It was kind of opposite of what you'd think.
