I'm looking for a good catfish rig. If anyone is looking to sell or knows of someone selling a nice rig, post here please.

Well, what exactly are you looking for? What do you consider a good cat fishing boat?

true but some platforms are better at some things than others... for instance, flat bottoms are great for going shallow, but they take a beating getting to the spot. I really like my deep V when its windy and choppy.

A feller really needs 2 boats. One for deep water fishing and one for shallow water fishing.
Both should have shade and a beer cooler and a potty and a microwave and a stereo.
And a hammock. Bikini gurls are nice too.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

given the available options with NEW boats, you are mostly correct. However, there really is no reason a boat cannot be good at both. My Sea Nymph striper proves that. Deep V hull all the way and I can get along in less than 2 feet of water yet I have taken her out 27 miles in the gulf. And no I don't mean on a glassy day with Kayaks around... I was out in terrible 20 knot winds and rain with ~4 foot swell.

I think the issue is that they build them a lot heavier nowadays. I think my boat weighs about 1200 lbs with the engine, maybe less and is a 19 foot boat. I was emailing with tuffboats because they looked like they might have a modern day replacement for my aging boat. They said their boats weigh 3500 lbs with engine!

Don't you fish phantom a bit? I've never seen a pro cat out there, but I'd like to check one out in person.

I have a center console. I can't think of any better boat to catch catfish from.
