I usually do better to let my cubes soak a couple of hours and then return to fish on them.

Dollar store mesh laundry bag for cheap will hold em a while longer. Draws in little fish and big fish eat little fish. Works good when left in overnight. Even better if you go refill the bag every 2 days or so. Depending on how cold the water is they may last for 3 days. Be sure to get bags with small mesh.
Don't let anybody see you put the bag out or you will find them parked right on top of it the next morning.

Get the 20% cubes and they sink. You don't need a bag.
