I am considering getting a carbon sweet 16. I have a couple off questions, I hear that lowrance is going to a mega shortly will this put the carbon 16 out off date or is it a transducer swap issue. Is the 3d side image better than the regular si transducer, thank you in advance for any comments this is a lot of money for me but I do not see as well as I use to and am hoping this helps,

pretty irrelevant off the source, I do not wish to injure anyone, the question is it a fact and will it require a transducer change or is it a internal electronic issue that will not be able to be performed by the carbon 16, I hope this new duel processer will be the driving engine to build on for a while, it is a large investment for me and I can wait if that is the case.
If it politically incorrect to answer the first question I understand and respect that, maybe the second question can be answered by lowrance staff I am told that the 3d transducer etc gives a better side image, side image is the main function I am concerned about.

I'm on multiple lowrance forums and have heard zero talk of a mega lowrance. The 3D will give better side imaging, the 3D part is nothing spectacular though. From the pics I've seen, I don't see the 3D cost of $1k being worth it. But I guess if a person is dropping $5k for a carbon 16, what's another $1k...
There is no lowrance prostaff on here.

Thank you very much I appreciate it, since your are up on this topic I am considering the 16 over the 12 only because the screen pixel count is higher per inch on the 16 does this result in a noticeable clearer picture

The 3D Structure Scan Side imaging is tremendously better than the LSS2 look. I am talking about the standard side scan. The 3D is going to show images with much better clarity than the LSS2 did. Any questions on Lowrance products, call me. I will send you a PM.
