Anyone have a good place to put kayak in at Grapevine? Murrell Park on the north side is a free launch for kayaks. Is the bass fishing good in that area? I've fished a few times on the other side of the lake at the Vineyards Campground/Katie's woods are and haven't caught too many. I do much better with the bass up around Murrell. There's some standing timber and more rocky structure to be found there than there is around the Vineyards campground.

I've caught one or two on the north side, but I've caught more smallmouth off the points around Katie's Woods and that point underneath the Gaylord. Still not a ton of them, though. Are you looking specifically for smallies?
