Not asking for any spots but as a general question, which lake is better for summertime crappie? I was thinking about finding some sand bass in the afternoon then start crappie fishing when the sun goes down. I know ray Hubbard is much better for sand bass but I would like to get into some crappie too. Trying to get my son and nephew on some fish. They are 5 and 6 and don't have a very good attention span.

If you are just wanting to keep the kids busy catching fish I would say Hubbard. JP is usually much better when the sun is up as well. I have found that the crappie bite slows down quite a bit when the sun goes down on Joe Pool.
