I was taking a break this am and having a snack about 11, when I saw sand bass boiling. I tied on a little George real quick and thew it as far as I could. I was about 100 off shore. I am deaf in one ear, so I didn't hear them coming, but a ski boat cut between me and the shore snagging my line. The rod was ripped out of my hands and the wake from that boat almost swamped me. An extreme hp was on the deck and of course that washed over too. So all in all, I lost about $800 of gear. Almost crapped my shorts, and was shaking for about an hour.
Be on the lookout for a dark red Moomba style ski boat wit 20 somethings in it.... They musta been doing 40 under the lake bridge and heading for the Colony side...
I did call it in but did not see the boat number of course...but I did have witnesses.....

That is why I am fishing way up in the trees at Ray Roberts until summer is over. Had a close call with a guy (who I waved down and kept from beaching his very expensive boat on some underwater rocks) a month or so ago. He was not happy I stopped him, I think it embarrassed him. He was about to drag a little kid on skis across a small ridge that is inches deep between me and the bank. After that indecent I was done out there for a while, not worth the risk.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

Get his TX numbers. A boater is responsible for any damages that are caused by his boat.
Call a GW and the sheriff. Get an incident report and take the boater to small claims.
All of the above will work in getting your stuff replaced and teach the boater a lesson. Coming on here and complaining about it will not and it will happen again to someone else.

Over the last 20 years or so of my life I have come to the conclusion that you simply cannot fix STUPID!!!!!
I wish I had a dollar for every episode I have gone through. It happens on all lakes. The ones that approach real close but only do it one time are the ones I leave alone. The ones that think it is funny and they attempt another go-round are the ones that really need fixing so I made me up a heavy flipping stick with a fast tip. 30 pound big game and a super spook with no hooks on it. When they realize the bait flying through the air was intended for them then STUPID gets smart and doesn't come back anymore. Do I try to hit them-----NO Do I want to hit them-----MAYBE de de

My wife thinks I'm a red neck cowboy cause I have no use for pleasure boaters and wakeboard board boats.

About 9-10 years back I had a wakeboard boat put me into a bulkhead in a no wake zone that cost 1400 to get my boat fixed. I couldn't get the TX number and the punks in the wakeboard boat laughed about it as the went by.

Thanks, Billy

Sounds like a bad deal. Sorry you lost your stuff. You will need that boat TX number to lodge a complaint tho.
