a guy drowned yesterday swimming thru the hydrilla near the island by the park on stillhouse. the corps said it was around 8 ft tall in some spots, they had to bring heavy chains in to drag for him. dont dnow if hes been found yet or not. prayers for the family and hope they found him, or find him soon. 33 yrs old. I never thought abt it, but wonder if a fella can get tangled in that hydrilla while swimming.,

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

They found the body.

Supposidly he was swimming out to the island, realized he couldnt make it,
turned around to head back and then went under.

According some reports it happened at around 8:00 at night.

I think one of the soldiers that drowned on belton at that low water xing few months back is still missing. lots of hazzards out there. how scary it must be to be stuck in something on the bottom of that lake. An experienced rescue diver also perished. From what little info the news put out, I think she herself became entangled in something on the bottom, and couldnt get free, and 2 other divers were down there with her trying to help her, but she died. sad..
Last year several drowned trying to swim to float away boats at belton boat ramps. its not worth it, either someone will come along and go get it for you or it will float to the other side. you might get a transducer knocked off, a skeg broke, ect, but u will live to fish another day. .
