I'm curious what everyone is using for a Bluetooth speaker while fishing. I realize many people may not listen to music while in the boat. I don't want an installed system in the boat but rather a single party styled speaker. I've been looking at the Monster speakers, Ion speakers, and Altec Lansing sonic boom. Basically I want something that I can take on the boat and will last a full day. Also I want to use it for the back patio when having guests over. Let me know what you suggest. I basically want a durable weather resistant Bluetooth speaker that has really good battery life.

Thanks!

Most with any volume aren't going to last a long day on the water - but there are models that can be aux powered from 12V DC or USB. Both of those are available as an add-on module easily tapped into the boat's power.

There are flanges available under the console of most Rangers that can accommodate mounting a 12V or USB receptacle out of sight, no need to hack the dash. The 12V and GND are readily available under the dash as well for a simple install.

I'd go with something from an actual audio technology company - such as Altec Lansing. (I have a speaker from them, like it a lot.) Monster is a marketing name, not an audio company, in my mind.

I had an Altec Lansing. It broke. I have a JBl now. The battery has lasted as long as I have stayed out. I'm sure there are others that are good. Those are the only two I have experience with.

Bought my daughter the "Jawbone BIG JAMBOX" a couple of years ago and it is still going strong. She drags it around everywhere, has long battery life and the sound quality is amazing for a speaker its size (6.5 x 11.2 x 4.3 in. and 2 lbs). Not waterproof but seems to be pretty well sealed.

JBL Charge 3, seats in the passenger seat as I mainly fish alone. Will last about 7 hours.

I have like this one, the shape prevents it from rolling around, sounds good, charge lasts: https://www.amazon.com/Cambridge-SoundWorks-OontZ-Angle-Generation/dp/B010OYASRG

CANZ from Walmart, great sound for $29.00 bucks. Also use it in my golf cart.

+1 on the big jambox by Jawbone. I have had mine for 3 years or so and it is still going strong. Sound is great, battery life is equally impressive. I have a buddy who just got a water resistant JBL Extreme and I like the sound from my big jambox better. Plus, with the big jambox being shaped like a rectangle (as opposed to the jbl extereme, which looks like a big pill) I can set the jambox on the boat deck or floor and it will not roll around.
