 Looking for a new lake

Hey guys. I finally bought myself a boat. It's a 2008 Skeeter FX190. I've been fishing Lake Waco because it's my home lake and the boat ramp is 5 minutes from the house. I'm looking for a new lake that is new boater friendly hopefully because this is my first boat. Looking for something within a 2.5 ish hour drive from Waco. Where should I go?

Within 2.5 you have all the wood county lakes, Fairfield, Athens would be best boater friendly imo

Possum Kingdom would be my first choice, I was there yesterday and fishing was pretty good. Beautiful lake too.
I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed.

Belton can be pretty dang good. Has some nice smallmouth.
Stillhouse Hollow also can be a lot of fun.
Brownwood is a fun lake. Good crankbait lake.
Since filling up lots of flipping cover and the bass are plentiful.
Whitney is close and it is a blast to bass fish.

Think I'll start fishing Whitney since it's about 15 minutes from the house. I've only fished it once by boat and did terrible. I usually kayak fish below the dam and have a great time. Any tips for fishing Whitney?

can't help on lake suggestions but would suggest as a new boat owner that you make sure your trailer bearings have been re-packed recently...too many times guys will focus their attention on the boat and motor and forget how important the trailer bearings are especially if the boat has been sitting up for awhile...
my suggestion is to ask around about where to carry the boat that is knowledgeable about boat trailer bearings and have your bearings examined for wear and pitting,replaced if necessary and repacked....and do not use a hand grease gun which waters down good hand packed grease and/or increases the chance of blowing out the rear seal from too much grease.....have your bearings examined and repacked once a year and you should never have any problems as a weekend fisherman....

Learned this the hard way... if you find yourself up northeast of Waco Chris at Malakoff Truck, Body and Trailer was awesome. I would drive back down there two hours from Mckinney for any trailer work in a heartbeat... I would drop trailer off after I unload boat on Athens with a fishing buddy and pick it up when done fishing for the day.
