Headed east over the weekend to my old stomping grounds to run a seminar trip. I spent two hours teaching the Fox clan everything I know about summertime sandbass fishing. After the basics, I handed them the wheel and had them show me they could catch fish completely on their own. We found fish in several places. Down south our whites were hanging around 18-24ft. The further north we went, the shallower the fish were. Our last stop, we found them at in 12-15ft in a school that was 15-20 yards wide and 150+ yards long. This is very typical for Cedar Creek in the summer time.

We cast/bounced slabs at daybreak, then I showed them the finer points of trolling a Hell Pet rig to finish up the morning. It is truly rewarding teaching someone how to catch their own fish, as opposed to just putting them on fish for the day. If you would like to join me sometime, I can be reached at 817-266-9811 or www.ftworthfishing.com

I would say they figured it out.

Great idea.
And thanks for the report.

Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.
