Took a little break from the Summer Texas heat and headed to the high country of Colorado. It was kind of a bust at first due to fresh rainfall and hail on the first day. I decided I needed to go way high to get above the muddy runoff in every stream and river. I found several trout laiden streams from 9700'-11,000'. Trout were small but the stream side cookouts were plentiful. I slept beside a different stream each night and awoke each morning with a rod in hand. I can't wait till next year to do it again! Enjoy!

Some cutbow's (I think)
from around 9200'. This was in the Uncompadre National Forrest. This was my first night headed up to clearer water. They filled the menu and got washed down with a cold Coores.

The next morning I broke camp and continued higher! Rainfall overnight just wouldn't give me a break!

Fresh fish, good beer, and in the woods. Way to go, man!

Biden famously said in the New York Observer, โ€œI mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, thatโ€™s a storybook, man.โ€

Thanks again guys! Yes, trout in general can appear as a creation of Piccaso's brush. Some of the prettiest fish on earth! Tasty too!

Now you're making me home sick! I grew up in CO and those mountains and trout still call to me.

Flags, I saw your brookie pics awhile back. They got me primed for my trip. I had to go waaaay up to find clear water. The higher I went the smaller and more beautiful the fish got. My appetite for them is hard to satisfy.

I'll be in Denver for a few days next month, and I can't wait! Will be getting in at least a day of fishing. Hope to catch a few brook trout myself, but truth be told I'll be happy to catch anything.
