Might help some if you let folks know what you want to fish for. Some guides specialize in crappie or white bass. Some teach about using your electronics and locating structure. For bass, there are several but can't say who's the best. Good luck.

I've never felt like I didn't get my moneys worth from Clark Rheem. He will fish with you until dark if you can take it!

It depends on what you're trying to accomplish. If you want to learn more about electronics, then Clark Reehm is definitely your guy. If you're looking more to go "catch" then Clark is probably still your guy. If you want to target bigger fish, learn shallow water techniques, or something more specific, then Stephen Johnston, Rickie Y'Barbo and Lynn Atkinson all offer trips. I think there is also a couple of young guys that started guiding on Rayburn now called Elite Guide Service.

What are your goals when hiring a guide? Do you consider yourself a novice, weekend warrior?

Stephen Johnston. I've been fishing with him for the past 8 years. He knows the lake as well as TB.

IMO I would steer clear of rheem. We had to hear 6 hours of how he was a FLW pro, how many waypoints he had and we didn't catch much. He had us out jigging slabs. We never went more than 3 miles from Boykin.

Roger Bacon does good work as well. He's always willing to help a guy out too.
