Not 100% sure due to the pic, but from what I can see of the anal fin, I'd say it's a channel. Nice fish.

100% Blue cat. Blue cat eyes are farther forward on it's head. Also the anal fin is longer with a straighter bottom edge and has more arrays. Dorsal fin is taller and more pointed. Side by side they are easy to see differences. This Youtube vid will help https://youtu.be/udYENQax_18

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

Cool pic with that alligator, I didn't catch it at first until I read the comments and went back and looked, once I zoomed in and saw it clearly I was thinking that thing is awfully close. thumb

Blue cat
No spots above the lateral line
Dont need no fins
I would have fed the gator that little chunk, cool stuff when you do things like that.
It comes back to you every time

You cannot take a fresh water alligator and dump him out in the ocean because he is a freshwater species. The game warden may be very interested in your relocation program. They will die a few hours or even a few days in salt water.

It will be enhanced since alligators are an endangered species. They have been endangered since 1973.

They sure aren't endangered anywhere they range in the United states!

Alligators live in the ocean near the shore too, we went and watched them in one of my college classes. Not talking estuary either, south Texas has plenty of them in the ocean.

Eric.

Blondee chill.. We have much stricter game laws now.. They aren't endangered anymore and are abundant throughout the south..
That's a blue cat.

San diego sucks for fishing. Have you plan to go fishing in California I would definitely recommend renting a private boat for doing anything besides jumping on one of those stupid party boats it's annoying and ridiculous people that go on there everyday all crowd up and one area and just fight with each other the whole time. You will catch more fish catfishing in Lake Arlington and you would in the Pacific Ocean on one of those stupid boats
