Have you guys seen Jackson's latest project? Meet the new Blue Sky Boatworks 360 Angler. Before the purists yell, "THAT'S NOT A KAYAK," they aren't calling it a kayak. But it's certainly in our genre with Jackson's pedal drive coming stock and an option for an electric or gas motor. I can see this thing converting a lot of boat owners to the small craft side of things.

I think its cool. Personally,,,(disclaimer) without paddling or peadling it, it looks like its probably best with a trolling motor or small gas engine. The more people on the water the better. It adds a new option for people.

How cool. I like the idea of how high you can sit/stand up and still have the stability. Not built to be a rocket ship, and obviously not a kayak, but it's a cool idea for a watercraft.

i could definitely see myself in something like this when i feel i'm too old to fish in a kayak.

I want to see more videos of it. On the water and being taken apart and put together.

It looks like it could get hung up on tall trees, limbs that go between the pontoons but are too tall to go over.

It's innovative and cool for sure. But for Kayak tourney Td's it's already a headache... between this and the Swan Paddle Boats... I don't even know what to allow anymore..

It's definitely getting trickier to decide where to draw the line.

Agreed, every boat has its limits. But I had a friend run over a stump in a "normal" kayak and got a limb stuck in his scupper. He had to go swimming to free it. Stumps are a nuisance for any vessel... kayak, boat and catamaran alike.

I too want to see it in action on the water. If I can get my hands on one once they're in production, I'll follow up with a full on-the-water review.

My wife wants one, so . . . I'll likely have one on Lake Athens next year.

Innovations? No, it looks to me like just a whole lot of really good ideas cobbled together. I do think the new Jackson drive, a bit of innovation there, for sure, is a great fit, a great starting point for propulsion. Then, one could decide whether to add a TM or a small outboard. And, the way it can be disassembled is pretty nice.

It'd sure be nice if Lehr could de-bug their little outboard motor that runs on anything from a little green propane camping bottle all the way up to a larger capacity. That'd eliminate the need to carry gasoline and more issues. Maybe more outboards will end up with propane fuel power now that kayaks and other small watercraft provide a market for them.
