Went to Academy and bought more fishing stuff this morning.
I needed a different catfish flipping rig for working the bird roosts so I snagged this Shimano ix4000R for a measly $12.99 and put it on a Penn Battle 6ft heavy rod I had. Loaded it with 50lb hi-vis green braid. Come on cold weather.
Hoping this will yank them 20-30lb blues off the trees better than my bait caster rigs.

Good rig. we use that same set up for catfish. Most of the guides in South Texas use that same rig for cork fishing for channels.
You will enjoy using it.

I use Mitchell 300's on a Berkley Shock Series lightning MH rods and Penn Battle II combos for all my slip cork fishing. I just needed something that would handle the big blue cats a little better when pitching jigs under the birds this winter.
