Just curious why I don't see much about Whitney on here. Been going on our family vacation there for years and the bass just keep getting bigger and more plentiful, in the lake and the river. Would post pics, but not sure how...

I grew up on Whitney fishing the banks around the Katy Bridge area back in the early 80's. I really like the lake but just haven't taken the time to go back much at all.

Golden algae fish kills permanently damaged its reputation, its good as long as the lake gets a good flush from a flood every few years but it will be back once we get a drought again, just something all the brazos river impoundments are going to have to deal with from now on I'm afaid.

Cause we have Rayburn, Toledo, fork, texoma, falcon. Without those lakes Whitney might get mentioned more

The guys that fish it regularly don't talk about it... we were specifically asked at the ramp by a local not to put anything on the internet. They like having it to themselves.

Here is my 19lb 3-fish stringer from our June club tournament at Whitney. I had 2 others that were barely culled. If it had been a 5-fish tournament, I have no doubt that I would have been bumping the 29lb mark.

I wonder what goes thru people's minds when posting about certain lakes, Do they enjoy a crowd? Is fishing around 20 boats something that makes they happy? I scratch my head sometimes when I see certain threads. Death by Internet is a real thing.

I remember when there would only be 15-20 trailers in the parking lot on a Saturday. Now there are 15-20 trailers on a Monday out there. Death by internet is no joke!
