I have a 2007 F-150 4x2 with a 5.2 V6 engine but it does have all terrain tires do you think I'd be able to tow my 17 ft fiberglass boat? And get it out of the water on the ramp?

I don't recall a 5.2 v6 that was offered in that era. But a 4.2 v6 should be able to handle it just fine.

The non turbo V6 is a turd motor, you're going to really be staying on it to keep up.
But...it'll do it eventually.
Make DANG sure you have a transmission cooler. And synthetic trans fluid, that's what'll die on you.

Sorry.. I was a little tired. The 5.2 was a typo meant to put 4.2

I have a 1996 190CCF I used to tow it with a 2002 Ford ranger 2 wheel drive, only time I had any issue was at a ramp behind the dam at lake Houston, that ramp was super steep had to give the truck a lil-push with the boat but all the other places like Texas city Kemah Thompsons I never had any issues and that boat is a tank.

I have a 2008 Ford F150 4X2 4.2L V6 single cab. I love my truck, it may not have a huge engine, but I've never had an issue towing anything.

I own my Tracker V18, which I think is right under 2k lbs and it has absolutely no issue moving it around.

I also tow my grandfather's Ranger, which is an older 17.5' (I think they called it an 18 back then) and, still, absolutely no issues. I'm guessing it's about 2.5-3k lbs.

However, it might also depend on the kind of boat too. Ski and runabout boats weigh more than a typical bass boat.

A transmission cooler will help, I don't believe I have one and I've pulled both boats to Florida and back.
