That model Skeeter should have no wood. The C in Zx202C stands for composite.

There you go Ricky, best news you've heard so far and that is GREAT news.

Fiber glass repair looks scary but is actually pretty easy, youtube for the how to and marine max for supplies are your friend. Matching the gel coat would be where I would have a tough time. It is a haul from where you are but Classic Fiberglass has their new shop in Sanger right off FM 455 on the way to Ray Roberts. I am sure he can get you fixed up the right way.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

Actually it's not. Just because composites won't rot doesn't mean that they won't delaminate. Pat has talked about it in several post.

Here's what would scare me... The rot smell. I bought a used boat that has some saturated foam in it and it has zero smell and is crystal clear. If you have stink & dirty water coming out, then you have a old patch job. Good news is that almost everything is fixable.

How many times have you used the boat since you bought it?

Could this have been an old repair spot that's starting to deteriorate?

Someone did a chitty repair job and didn't disclose it. Someone backing into you wouldn't produce that smell in and of itself. I'd be contacting the previous owner.

That boat does have wood in it.
I had a 2000 model 202C and it had a lot of wood in it.
I think the stringers are composite material and maybe the transom and floor.
I toured the factory in 2001 and watched them building them is how I know this and my dealer told me there was no wood in it when I bought the boat in 2000.

I have a 99 model 202C now that has been ran into on the back right corner of the sponson twice, and it barely chipped the surface. Both times the boat was parked on the trailer on asphalt and the impact moved the rig about twenty feet both times.
That had to be a pretty hard hit to open up like that, or it was hooked up and unable to move on impact and caused more damage.

Have you ever washed your windshield at a gas station and the water that is sitting there smells awful. Is that what it smells like? If so the water has been in your boat for a long time. Could be a crack somewhere else, get under it and really check it out. Just check it out real good then take it to a fiberglass shop, It should be fine but get it fixed right.

On almost any impact there is a impact mark of some kind. I typically see yellow paint on the Skeeter sponsons where people back them into poles at the gas station. I don't see anything that indicates fresh impact. The fiberglass that is exposed should be pink if it is a fresh impact. It looks yellow or a brown color from the pictures. I would say old repair but that could all change after standing in front of it. Either way its a minor repair and nothing to get to bent out of shape about.

I guess we know the million dollar answer if the previous owner never responded to the text.
