But it didn't start that way!!! bang
Belinda & I hit a local lake at sunrise for a change of scenery bolt

Went to the 1st brush pile I wanted to hit and I instantly stuck a pretty black banana

Then Belinda got in the action clap

Then Belinda stuck the BFOD woot cheers flehan

I had to scold her for jumping up & down in the boat.....She spooked the fish there....only 10fow argue loco

So we took off to scan more bp's.....nothing......nada.....all vacant!!! hmmm

We'd pick up 1 or 2 here & there, but I just wasn't seeing much on the Solix or the 360 crying

We had 12 in the box and was disgusted..........I told her that I had a couple of spots to scan on the way back to the ramp,
If we didn't find any, we'd go back to Fork and fish.

Idled past a log laying on it's side in 12 fow with the butt end sticking out of the water.
At 1st I didn't see the fish, but I saw the shadows of a wad of good fish,
I got excited and showed Belinda what I saw and I could see the excitement return to her face cyclop

As I turned the boat around I saw a single tree on the graph that had a wad of crappie on it, so I threw a buoy out upwind of it.....

It was only about 30 yds from the laydown. We fished the laydown hard, could see the fish on the 360, ease up to them, just light pecks.......
Didn't stick a fish one bang realmad
Eased over to the marker buoy....... fish ...... again, just light pecks......... I was completely disgusted

Then I had a thought hmmm
I backed the boat up, shot my jig past the tree and let it swing down past the tree about 8' deep.......THUMP! hooked

It was fast & furious action.........but my lovely bride just couldn't get the hang of it...She lost her "MOJO" OMG

Belinda just sat down....I asked her if she wanted to go, she said "No, I'll just watch you spank them"
It slowed at the tree, I eased over to the laydown, shot my jig past the spot the fish were holding at.
As my jig settled down, I got a violent thump that almost dislodged my rod from my hand cheers

When I finished my limit, I said "OK, Let's go"

This is a normal sized Igloo ice chest....Shows the quality of the fish!!!

Almost all of them were black crappie hmmm

Final Tally
Todd = 25
Belinda = 4
wife

Sorry I haven't been posting, I haven't quit fishing, just haven't been taking pictures and sharing.
In June, Hickory Nut & I had 7 trips that we caught double limits thumb

I'll share more soon....HN & I are about to go out and see what's what..........

I like that "swing". Been pulling a lot of dinks out of brush lately fishing vertically. But, if I do a swing past the bush, the bigger fish come out and nail it. Noticed fishing with a buddy a couple of weeks ago. Repeated it the last few trips out to produce most of my better fish. After catching a few good fish, would zero in closer to the bush and seek out less aggressive fish. Seamed there where a lot more in the bush, but they where all dinks. Didn't really put it together till reading your post. Got to get back out and check this out. Thanks!
