Going out in the middle of nowhere tomorrow to try a little known lake called Lake Pinkston for some bass/crappie action. It held the state record bass (16.9 lbs) until Lake Fork was impounded. It's only 523 acres and full of stumps. Should be a fun morning, and I can almost guarantee there won't be more than 3 boats on the whole lake. I will upload pics if we have any cell signal.

There are some good sized crappie in Pinkston. Like always, finding them is the ticket. I think they have recently put buoys around it but the pump station on the dam end of the lake holds good crappie. Also watch for schooling bass on the main body. Don't be surprised when you hook a 6 or 7 pound bass on your crappie jig. No boat lane so just figure on hitting some stumps.

I've only found crappie there once, and it was at the pump station. Shot jigs underneath it and landed lots of nice ones and a bonus 6lb bass. Going to go on the hunt for them on brush/timber tomorrow. Such a pretty lake, but barely any parking and the ramps are kinda rough. Water is gin clear.

Good luck but I'll be glad when you have to go back to school. You're killing me being able to fish during the week. cry

Well, I was right. We saw 2 other boats all morning.

Found one school bunched up on the side of a creek in 14 FOW. Got 10 keepers out of them.

Last time I was there I had a gator swim up to a few feet from the boat. Nice catch! thumb
