So you guys that night fish often, what is your target time and prime 4-6 hr window? I don't think I can do 10-12 hours and fish ALL night so I have to choose a night shift of about 6 hours. I'm a 100% rookie at night fishing.

I don't normally try to get on the water until around 11. I usually fish through the night and try to catch the morning bite. It depends on the lake and what you are fishing. If you are fishing lights at Fork, the bite is good from 10 til just before daylight. When I fish Pool in the dark, I'd say around midnight til 3 is probably my best time but that may just be not being in the right place at the right time. It is much more relaxing and a slower pace at night so just pick a time you are comfortable with and fish til tired or take a nap in the boat. I've caught my biggest fish while my partner was napping.

I like it best from 2a thru the morning bite.....but time on the water is always a plus.

If it's your first time to go alone at night, try and take a buddy with you.

After night fishing for 20+ years I'd say 11-4 is THE WINDOW

2:00 - 4:00 AM is prime. If your looking for a six hour trip that will be perfect. Get there at 2:00 and leave after the morning bite slows down around 8:00.

Dusk to 2 or 3am depending on how good the bite is. Be careful.

Seems like the going gets good around midnight. I usually fish from then until the morning bite.
